US petroleum consumption has actually gone "DOWN" but I keep hearing the laws [theories] of "supply and demand" meaning if demand goes up the price goes up, yet the US demand has been going down since 2007 why isn’t the price down?

Thanks but those do not have the efficiencies of refining petroleum. I am looking a percentage of usable energy after refining over total energy before refining.
You know, analogous to the ‘refining’ efficiency of hydrogen from water, 80-94% (6-20% loss due to inefficiencies, heat, etc.).

This doesn’t make any sense!

I’ve watched the price of a barrel of oil drop over the past 2 weeks but the cost of gas remains the same.Is this because Labor Day is coming up and they want one big last gouge before travel season ends?
