I was hoping you could guide me in the right direction. My mother passed away last year and I and her other 2 children inherited her royalty interest (unknown amount)in land located in Kleberg, TX. We have no idea of the value of the rights to the land. Below is how my Grandfathers will was typed up for my mothers inheritance. Any advise would be appreciated.

To XXXX XXXXXXX, all of my royalty interest in Exxon Corp Division Order No. 10763 & B-Land located in Kleberg County, Tx and known as Seeligson Zone 21-B, Tract 6 (jay Simmons-J.W. Rawlingson) and Seeligson Zone 21-C unit tract 2 and being described as follows:
161.65 acres of land, more or less, being survey No. 43, Patented to Pedro Ramos, Patent #605, Volumn 15, dated june 21, 1884, Kleberg County, TX.
Again any help in direction to pursue would be a great help,

Hey guys, I've been trying to choose between LSU and UL Lafayette's petroleum engineering program for what seems like an eternity. Will choosing one of these schools give me an advantage in the oil and gas industry? Is one school's program more highly regarded/recruited and has more connections? Perhaps one is less rigorous than the other aka lower attrition rates... I basically need an analysis of these two programs side-by-side to aid my decision.

In 2006 purchased a new home in Mansfield, Tx. A year later Oil/Gas company sent me a letter asking me along with other property owners to sign a oil/gas lease. The HOA got involved and hired a lawyer to negotiate on our behalf. The company offered 25% royalty and $17,500 per acre. This was the final agreement. Now we are all waiting on the company to get other things approved in order for us to know our percentage of the production once they start producing gas. Do I need to hire a lawyer of my own in order that I get everything that is legally mine, especially since I own the mineral rights and surface?
