can i mix butane and petroleum for grilling?

i have a mini grill and i use a grill fluid from the store which is petroleum…i usually have no problem with lighting the grill and keeping a good flame but since i was low on fluid i couldnt use as much as it says to so my fire will start but soon goes out…the only other thing i have in my house is a lighter refill bottle which is butane…can i put this over the same coals that just had the petroleum on them to get my fire back?

propane is a gas. it won,t stick to or absorb into the charcoal. if you squirt it into the grill and attempt to light it, you will probably get a small explosion.

No. Using a butane lighter refill tube in this manner will likely not even ignite.

If it did, then you’d have a flame thrower.

Be very careful using anything other than what is specifically made for this purpose. Third degree burns suck. :(

If I would try anything, it would be a vegetable cooking oil, but I don’t know if you could get it hot enough to ignite.

    Regards.
