can petroleum fractions be separated at room temperature on the basis of viscosities\?

If this is possible, what would be some advantages of this separation?

Sure, in theory. The biggest advantage would be that it takes less energy, since you lose energy entropically by evaporating and then recondensing oil in a distillation step.
