Oil is the main ingredient, I know, but how much exactly is oil as opposed to additives?
Oil prices skyrocketed in May, and fuel prices weren’t too slow to respond to the change in market price. Now that oil prices have dropped, why don’t we see the savings at the pump as fast as the fill stations were quick to raise prices?
I need to know how the price of oil has changed over the past 12 months, and what factors affected these changes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Do they just find some more oil and then the price goes back down until they run low again? Do consumers really use less when the prices are higher? I don’t see that we are using less. I think we all just grumble about the price of gas as we fill our tanks [...]
I think the oil companies is just letting them happen so that they can raise the price of oil.
Im doing a research paper on Crude Oil and Gas Prices. Please help any good answers on the subject. Besides Saudi Arabia where does America Puchase its Crude Oil?
People say the implied price (of the stock) is .00 oil. How do you assess this? Where do you figure this out?
How long does crude oil take to biodegrade? Please site reference(s), as I have researched but have not found any reliable answers. Thanks!
I heard that when we went off the gold standard we tied the value of dollar to oil because we found a ton of oil up in Alaska. Instead of drilling up there we made a deal to buy foreign oil and tie our dollar to oil. We are keeping the oil off the [...]
Speculators were not evil for increasing the price of housing?
Looks like BP finally put the 150,000 lbs lid on the leak! Hope they really stopped the leak and didn’t start somewhere else. What’s next? How are they going to clean-up the floating crude oil from the ocean surface?
It’s been leaking for 3 months now. Is it possible to burn the millions of gallons [...]
The people in power control the oil, just like everywhere else. So causing a missile panic benefits them finacially.
Can anyone know the average yield for crude oil?
If a man keep buying the crude every year, could he gain profit that beat inflation?
We keep hearing, oil/gas are expected to be at blah blah highs and they are gonna keep going blah blah. So, what do you think needs to be done to reverse the current trend and make the prices decrease and get to normal ranges. I don’t want to just "save" on gas, I want to [...]
nobody expected oil to drop so far, so fast. i was wondering how much
lower do the people on y/a think the price of oil will go?
what do you think the price of oil will be when it bottoms out or do you
think we are at the bottom already? thank you.
A little while ago, crude oil prices were plummeting with the price of the euro. Now the euro and pound are rising but crude oil prices are falling. Can someone explain the seeming contradiction? Why are oil prices falling?
SDD, crude oil prices indeed fell over a course of a few days. They have recently risen [...]
does that mean that ‘peak oil’ is just a scam to keep oil prices artificially high?
I mean is the best use of crude oil as a fuel or a petrochemical?
The price of oil doesn’t hasn’t change much in the past 2 months but the price at the pump is up 50 cents. How does that make sense? It’s not like it costs more to refine it.
I’ve heard that the oil peak is going to be reached this or next year. And from here the amount of crude is going down. After all this is finished up, what will humans use? Crude is so reliable and easy to use. I can’t imagine a world with people relying on light and water [...]
With oil prices on the rise I am wondering at what price per barrell of crude oil will alternatives be cheaper.
Will the price of oil stop falling the minute OPEC cuts production? What specific news or preidctions about production cuts have we heard in the last week?
I know that if it does evaporate that it would not condense into crude oil but I’m pretty sure that the hydrocarbon chains might bond with water or at least recombine into other maybe toxic forms form droplets like rain.
In the Middle East, why is it that when there is a rumor (not an actual) of war, as in the tension between the Brits and Iran today over the 15 captured marines and soldiers, oil prices spike even if there is no real war and no actual disruption to production or delivery? Supply [...]
Gasoline is produced from crude oil,a nonrenewable resource. Ethanol is mixed with gasoline to produced a fuel called gasohol. Calculate the mass (in grams) of water produced when 66.89 g of ethanol is burned in 56.51 g of oxygen.
C2H5OH + O2 → CO2 + H2O
