@whiteflame55
So the US government would tell Exxon and BP and Texaco what price they have to sell their oil for in America? And that they may not export any?

Or would OPEC still dictate the price we pay at the pump. Lets say we tapped into a trillion barrels of oil under US soil, would this have any impact on what we pay?
I agree Thomas, that seems like the most rational thing to do seeing that oil is a finite resource.

I get why the price of food goes up when the price of oil does. But I was wondering why the price of food stays up? If the price of oil drops, the price of food doesn’t.

I heard a news report some years ago that if we utilized every drop of oil that is in the US it would only last us for one year. But I read other reports on the internet say that we have one of the largest untapped oil supplies in the world.

Why is it when the price of crude oil goes up (gas prices go up),
"Experts" say it’s bad because people can’t afford gas?
Then, when crude oil prices drop (gas prices drop), "Experts" say it’s bad because investors loose money?
They both can’t be bad !!
