Democrats want to tax the oil companies, and not let them drill for oil. Can they fix the gas price?

The dems tried to pass a "windfall" profit tax earlier this week.
Do the democrats have any clue over what to do about the price of gas? Did jimmy "peanut brain" carter?

That’s the plan; their big money lobbyist backers in the environmental movement want gas prices to at least double but the public wouldn’t stand for it so they are trying to get it higher by indirect taxation and limiting domestic supply.

No fixing the gas crisis. The problem is with prices, not costs. US tapping its own oil sources will not be a solution since the gas will end up on the international market, too. You dont own it so you dont say where it goes.

This is absolutely why we are having a financial scare. Congress has blocked any new refinery building (since 1976) no drilling off our coasts, but CHINA is drilling 60 miles off the coast of Florida. WTF????? Our Democratic lead congress is not getting the job done. They are spiriling this country into bankrupcy. Impeach the **&^*&^!!!!

They are clueless.
Sorry Boon, increasing the supply of oil will decrease the price.

Fox is so unreliable where Dems are concerned.
Yes, they propose more oil tax but any restriction on drilling is environmentally informed, not a ban. Let the oil co’s clean up their act.
