Did you know that Obama's Ocean Policy Task force does not just concern commericial/ recreational fishing?
It also includes offshore oil drilling, natural gas pipelines, ports & harbors, cruise ships, oil tankers, imports, exports, land development along water resorces, military exercises & testing and population growth along water sources, aquaculture etc. If you look at the entire picture that is a lot of power and control as well as money.

It’s the government’s job to protect natural life sustaining resources, and to assert control over anything that could potentially threaten those resources.
Example….
Do you know how long they’ve wanted to pursue oil and gas in the great lakes ?….
The great lakes are known to be rich in both…..but the government won’t allow it, because the great lakes are a fresh water resource for about 80 million people. Do you understand the consequence of letting an oil and gas corp explore this area, and have ONE accident ?
This is an example of the government WORKING…so i’m not sure why you are complaining about it.
