earth absorbs liquids such as water, why it has not absorbed petroleum within it?

1.I know there is petroleum (crude oil) within earth, where is it? Is there only petroleum or are there similar fluids as well that are used for similar purpose? The earth has the characteristics to absorb liquids and fluids such as water, why the earth does not abosb the petroleum that is within it? I hope the question is clear, if not I will have to further clarify. I will send the two more questions afterwards, and they are as simple as this one.

If earth absorbs water, then why can we pump water out of the ground? We pump petroleum out of the ground, but you say that’s because earth has not absorbed it. Well, if, as you say, earth has absorbed water, why can we also pump water out of the ground?

Wow. There is so many flawed ideas in your question it is difficult to answer without teaching you fundamental high school science. Let’s just put it this way.

Go outside and pour some cooking oil on the dirt. Does it soak it up?

water is not absorbed like it would disappear. It is in our oceans, lakes rivers and under the ground like pockets of wet soil or something. It is still there even if we can’t see it. Petroleum is the same thing but it does not evaporate. It is still there, even if we can’t see it.
