Has any one ever tried putting a petroleum jelly on your hand instead of a regular hand cream ?
Has any one noticed a difference of putting a petroleum jelly on your hand instead of a lotion and the wearing cotton gloves on top of it.
Any dermatologists out there??

Yes this works well and is a recommended treatement. You should do it at night though and wear white cotton gloves when you do this. It is good for the feet too but wear socks to bed.

It works great. In fact if you look at the hand creams for extreme dryness, the main ingredient is petroleum jelly.

Geez, I don’t understand why some people have to be so rude! I had a neighbor who uses it on her face as a moisturizer and she’s not black but she does have a beautiful complexion for a woman of age!

When I was very young I had eczema on my feet and was very painful. The only way to get rid of it (that worked for me), was to rub petroleum jelly on my feet and sleep in white cotton socks.
So yes… to answer your question. Petroleum jelly actually works better than lotion, as most lotions have perfumes in them that can irritate your skin and dry your hands out even more.
PJ or Vaseline.. works great for all chapped skin (lips… diaper rashes, hands, feet, etc…)
