Has anyone died from the crude oil and dispersant chemicals in the Gulf Oil Spill?

I was wonder if the crude oil has extreme enough health effects on humans to be able to kill them. Same goes for the dispersant chemicals being used, has anyone died from the crude oil and dispersant chemicals? I am thinking about going down and helping out in the gulf, but I do not want to do so if I am going to die from being in contact with the crude oil and dispersant chemicals. I would most likely have skin contact with them and I know that I would be breathing harmful fumes. How extreme are some of the side effects?

No one has actually died yet, but a number of people have gotten sick enough to be hospitalized do to exposure to thick fumes and direct physical contact with oil itself.

Not that I’m aware of, but there are cover ups at BP

I don’t know what the side effects of these chemicals are. It could be years before anybody finds out.
