How do I get rid of this disgusting petroleum oder from these leather boots?

Im not sure if it does smell like petroleum. but a couple people who also bought the boots and commented on it saying it smelled like petroleum
so Im guessing thats what that atrocious smell is

    lets themoutside in the air in the sun and it will fade away. unless you wanna clean them in vinegar but then theyll smell like vinegar. or set them on fire. haha just kidding. let the sit outside for a day or two and itll jsut wear off,

    the smell is part of the tanning process. Remember that leather will breathe, so it will take a day or so to air out. Just let the boots air out if you have a weird smell. Likely it’s a fluke for that review, and you shouldn’t be concerned at all.

    You could always buy them at a nordstrom store if you are concerned
