How do I get stabilizer (petroleum distillates) smell out of my jacket?

I have a light running jacket and it was next to a bottle of stabilizer (petroleum distillates). I put it through the wash and unfortunately it still smells. How do I get the smell out?

If you leave it out in the sun for a while the smell will dissipate. When you smell something it’s because molecules of that substance are evaporating into the air, eventually enough of them will evaporate that there won’t be enough left to create any noticeable odor.

You could also hand wash the jacket in hot water with very concentrated soap, this should remove it too.
