How hard are the courses to become a Petroleum engineer? I've heard there the hardest of any engineering?

Im currently a senior in high school whose excelled at math and sciences. Im interested in become a petroluem engineer but ive heard from numberous people that its the hardest type of engineering and that many people end up changing majors. i was just wondering if anyone could tell me how hard the courses were and just the major and job as apetroleum engineer in general. thanksssss

    There is nothing that makes petroleum engineering more difficult than other engineering discipline.

    Many people seem to lean toward petroleum because they think is pays better than other engineering disciplines. In reality there is really not that much difference in the pay scales for the various engineering disciplines. It depends much more on the individual and their abilities.

    I wouldn’t say it was the hardest.

    More likely the reason for change of major are the limited career choices. Petroleum Engineering is a pretty specific discipline, unlike something like Electrical Engineering which has broad application potential in industry.
