In 2007, the US used on average 20.7 million barrels of petroleum products a day. Of that, 70% was used for transportation, 24% for industrial use, 5% for residential & commercial use, and 2% for electric power. I leave you to do the math for # of barrels used for each sector.

What do you consider "building".
Materials, diesel to run construction equipments, gasoline/diesel to get construction workers there, what type of construction.
You wont find a number, simply because it can’t be calculated.
