how much can I expect to pay for natural gas?

We are renting a 25 year old log cabin house. The only thing that uses gas in the house is the gas heater. We *think* the heater uses about 80,000 btu’s. The house is about 1500 sq ft on 2 floors, with only one room on the second floor being in use, and the heater turned down to its lowest setting during the day. If the average price of natural gas in our area is 1.099 per therm, how much can we expect to pay for natural gas in a month?

For an exact answer, just call the gas provider. They will be happy to give you the prior tenants consumption.

Granted, you won’t use the SAME amount, but this’ll be very close.

This should be simple for you.

    first gather these facts.

btu of appliance 80k you stated

zipcode where you live a no brainer

    sq ft of home

the temp you wish to maintain, its ok to average daytime and nightime

then just call your gas provider and they can easily tell you with there programs

personally i live in a two story 2,200 sqft cabin and dont spend a dime on gas, i burn wood and live in the ozark mountains.

    best of luck
