    The smell is Benzene and can be removed by soap or detergents which are the cheaper and very effective options, The soap and detergent removes the petrol and carries the benzene along with it.

    I had an abatement procedure done on my house and the company told me that the smell from the mastic remover would dissipate in 48 hours because they were going to wash it down with dawn dishsoap afterwards. It didn’t work. What can I do? Please help. I haven’t been able to live in my home since November, 2011
