If Majority Democrats Get There Way Not Drilling Our Oil What Will Gas Cost Per Gallon Next Year?

They most say to drill on leased land with all the DRY HOLES, don’t want us to drill where we have oil. So if they don’t approve the Ban Lift that Bush did the other day, and we don’t drill. Say Obama wins it, we have majority Democrats still with Nancy Pelosi as leader of Congress. What do you think we will pay for a gallon a gas by next year?
Anyone who has taken Economic class and passed it knows that if we have more supply the price goes down. We have 3 THREE TIMES more oil in just one area than the ENTIRE supply that the Saudi’s have!!!!
ETHEL!!! Its 68 Million acres not 650! Also Oil Co. said they HAVE BEEN DRILLING THERE! NO OIL! They are exploring for it!! We need to drill where we KNOW IT IS! Why can’t liberals understand these facts!?

  1. Patriotism b4 Change rhetoric Says:

We need to Drill NOW while we explore other alternative energy.!

Obama as President and a Dem-led Congress would be the end of America!

  2. Major Upgrade Says:

    $10 per gallion.

    Click..click…click..$10 bucks!

  3. IanHarStantoN Says:

The fact is, you can drill until your face turns blue, and you’re not going to bring down the price of gasoline. The price at the pumps is due to oil speculation on the open market, with big time investors banking on oil commodities as the price skyrockets.

We can’t drill our way out of this one, and we need to use that money invested on offshore drilling on alternative fuels.

Even George Bush admitted yesterday during his speech that the drilling would not effect the definitive price of oil at gas pumps (watch the news, no one disagrees on that one), but it would cause oil speculations on the NYSE to deccelerate.

  4. Ethel M Says:

What are you talking about. The oil companies have 650 million acres to drill on.

This has nothing to do with supply and demand. Like Bush said when he begged the Saudis to release more oil. Bush said at that time three weeks ago, it isn’t supply and demand that has cause this problem.

Bull let the OIL companies drill on the land they have. This is just a ploy from the Rep’s. You know FEAR, FEAR AND MORE FEAR to get what they want.

  5. whip Says:

    6.50

  6. dodgerblue_2008 Says:

The republicans in congress have enough democrats on board to pass the drilling bill

Pelosi is refusing to call it to a vote.

The majority of Americans want us to drill now

  7. wisdomforfools Says:

The falling dollar has more to do with gas prices than off shore drilling does. If our currency continues to decline, we will be paying more and more, for everything.

  8. panurge Says:

Any oil that is drilled for, and pumped out, will be put on the WORLD MARKET! We will only see a fraction of it,if any!

  9. Louella R Says:

already Democrats are pressing Obma to cave in on this drilling issue and nuclear enegy..both he now opposes..

but when gas goes up past $5.00 a gallon the Americans will demand off shore drilling and the Congress will cave and so will Obama no matter where he happens to be..

  10. darrin b Says:

It would be the same as it would be if drilling were to take place.

Please don’t let "W" and McCain tell you differently.

  11. cannotundo Says:

I still believe that when gas is over 4 dollars and is approaching 5 dollars( when our analysts know it is going to go over five) we will have critical collapses, we will lose businesses and jobs, the demand will go down but only because we are broken.

  12. Forget War Buy More Says:

We don’t have nationalized oil corporations, so either way it is not the fault of Congress. The oil companies are currently leasing 68 million acres of land that aren’t being drilled on. They’re currently building a new refinery in SD as we speak.

  13. Anon Says:

Gas prices already peaked. We probably won’t see them go any higher than we already did unless the US dollar loses more of it’s exchange value, especially since gas is priced at the American dollar.

  14. Locke Says:

I think all the infostructure we have to build to drill the oil is going to offset the price benifets of drilling in our national parks…

The problem is two fold, the value of the dollar is going down and the world is running out of oil. Gas prices are going to go up no matter what.

We need to focus on alternate fuel sources if we ever want to pay less again.

  15. charlie in mex Says:

Woiuld rather seebush open up some of our reserve to flood the market droping the price of oil. And we will need to reopen a few refineries. Although we could always jsut isolate iran since they keep running there mouth off saying how they wont send us oil even though we get no oil from them because its low grade crap. Also if we flood the market all those nice oil investors who have bet against the people who actually consume thier gas would lose milions in the first day alone.

  16. jonbjammin Says:

The same as it will, if we do drill. Whether we have new leases or not, all the experts concede, it will take years before any new drill produces a drop of oil…

  17. 1Pilot Says:

Hard to say because it changes every day but i would guess 7 -10 bucks a gallon

  18. FreedomUSA Says:

We can be SELF sufficient but the dimwith Democrats don’t want us to be, very simple. The FACT is we have over 500 yrs of oil shale in Montana, over 500 yrs of coal to liquids, over 500 yrs of oil of the coasts and in ANWAR. The problem with the dimwit Dems is very simple, their philosophy is NOT to be self sufficient and FORCE people to be dependent on other countries and the government, typical SOCIALISTIC agenda.

ForgetBuy: "nationalized oil corporations"?? You must live in Venezuela under Chavez, we live in a FREE market, NOT a socialist country.

  19. Pfo Says:

Umm, we do not have 3 times Saudi Arabia’s oil. Also, one year is too small a time frame to impact prices no matter who wins this debate.

  20. Allahu akhbar! Says:

Drilling in ANWR would make no discernible difference to the price of gas – maybe it would remove 10c in 10 years.

"We have 3 THREE TIMES more oil in just one area than the ENTIRE supply that the Saudi’s have!!!!"

    …this just isn’t true.

  21. SouthernGrits Says:

The price of oil dropped 9 DOLLARS a barrel yesterday right after GWB’s press conference when he was promoting DRILLING here!

Granted it was a temporary drop, but the power of just saying that we are going to be energy independent was enough to shake OPEC!

We are not ready to drop oil as a fuel source yet. It will take years to make that kind of change. THIS IS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, we can do anything we set our minds to. We CAN have refineries built and working SOON. We CAN drill and supply ourselves with oil until we are ready to switch to fuel alternatives in a responsible way.

There is no other reasonable option. If Obama and pelosi are in charge, God help us.

  22. PB&J Says:

More than the average American can afford. And the saddest part is, the Democrats don’t care.

  23. liverpool fan MAN U SUCKS Says:

it will take 7 years is we start drilling today to get that oil, so no matter what happens with the ban lift it will cost the same if whoever was president next year.

  24. Tom T Says:

It will depend on the value of the U.S. Dollar and the economy. There is no way the democrats will be able to fix the mess that little georgie bush and the PNAC have done to this country in a year. The price for little georgies war still will have to be paid, care and compensation for all the troops wounded and disabled in the middle east will still have to be paid for. You will be paying more and driving less because both the state as well as the federal tax on petroleum products will continue to rise. Have you thanked your prezident today for the destruction he has brought on to this country? You should tell him how happy you are for all he has done.

  25. Kukoc Says:

We will pay more for gas next year no matter how much offshore drilling we do. It takes at least 5 years for new drilling to get to production. Meanwhile, Republican hold alternative energy incentives hostage to get subsidies for oil companies.

The Democrats *are* for drilling, they just want the oil companies to explore the leases they already have.

The oil companies decimated their exploration capabilities when oil was $10/bbl, so they couldn’t exploit offshore if we let them.

Bush could have lifted that ban the day he became president. Why didn’t he?

  26. labowu Says:

Well over $5 a gallon. Still, more drilling isn’t the answer. We have to break the dependence on oil not reward the price gouging oil companies with billion dollar contracts. A little pain today for relief tomorrow. The prices have to reach a point where consumer outrage outweighs oil lobbyist clout and forces massive investment in alternative technologies.

  27. Ned m Says:

You can drill away all you want and find the oil all you want, but at the end of the line, the price of gas will NEVER come down…..WE NEED ALTERNATE SOURCES OF ENERGY NOW!!!!

  28. crazy2all Says:

Stop blaming the democrats….what’s the majority anyway, one or two. If is an awfully big word. stop- yelling

Gas will probably be 5 a gallon by the end of the year. Who knows from there.

  29. Barry OH! Says:

6$ gallon is the limit Americans will take. The speculators have been sucking in alot of new investors .Any seasoned investor knows what is going on .In fact they are probably half the cause of its success right until now. When things get so bad that Food exports are halted then the Price of oil will plummet.I agree that we have to drill ,don’t get me wrong.I am one of those in the North east that will probably loose my house and everything I’ve worked this winter.I feel that I have no legitimate candidate to vote for .I think alot of people will freeze to death if the Dem continue to stall Drilling. It would be an important message to OPEC if we OK the measure. The Dem’s are waiting until after the election.they should be put in prison.Instead all of us that owe the Credit Card companies will be put there before them.

  30. D Says:

The drilling is offsetting a bigger problem. The money the government is putting into drilling offshore should be put into researching and developing renewable energy sources. Instead of just putting the problem off for later generations lets fix it! Also by next year those offshore drilling stations would still not be finished so they still would not be helping us at the pump. It takes longer than that to get those up and running.

  31. Anthony C Says:

If you really do your research, you will find out that offshore drilling and drilling in Anwar will not have any immediate effect on gas prices. The oil that is drilled will not solely contribute to the U.S., but to the collective world market, which by the way, will only add 2% to the overall oil supply. It takes many years for them to actually reach the oil, which must then be refined. So, the oil they are wanting to drill for would not even reach the market until around 2025, and even then, will only lower the price of gas by a few cents. This "solution" is only being presented to affect us psychologically, in the hopes that it appears that Bush is doing something about it. We need to push for stronger mpg regulations on automakers and focusing on alternative sources for fuel. Research Brazil and see what they have done with sugarcane. I know if Brazil can do it, then surely we can, but with switchgrass or hydrogen.

  32. david w Says:

Reality is Americans have cut use 30% in the last 6 months. Did you see the price go down? and you won’t .Next year and the following years the price will continue to grow. The price per gallon went up 25% in 1 year. Do you really believe that world consumption grew 25% in ONE YEAR. Speculators who hope that Iran will close off their passageway of oil to the world are betting it will jump 2 or 3 fold, and they’ll get richer. If Iran no longer is considered a threat, you will see the price drop.

  33. Steel Rain Says:

Even the most liberal among us will finally figure out that the Democrat Party is the problem and vote them out of office, I just hope it doesn’t take $7.00 per gallon gas for them to come to their senses. If the oil companies were allowed to drill where oil may be found and build refineries gas prices would drop almost immediately once all the artificial restrictions and fees were removed. The ten year figure to see a flow of oil from new wells is a bald face lie. Lets kick these bums of office.

  34. Vote Barr Says:

if mccain was to win probably bout 6 bucks..all good soldiers take orders and Bush will advise him

  35. ghetto nerd Says:

Drilling is not the answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!It takes years from the point find the drilling place, build an oil rig, ship the barrels, refine the oil.
    We need an immediate solution!!

  36. ella's mama Says:

It doesn’t matter if we started drilling yesterday, it’s not a quick fix. Why can’t they just drill on the 68 million acres that they’re sitting on, it’s been reported that land has the potential to DOUBLE America’s oil production. Also, we need to tap into the reserve to increase our supply. Pulling out of the war would help greatly. Did you know we send a little over 100 million barrels of oil a DAY to Iraq/Afghanistan? It’s supply and demand and we are using too much oil.

  37. Rick O Says:

Oil Cos have echo tested all through this area i live in but have only located small pockets of nat gas. the same testing off both coasts 30 years ago showed massive deposits of oil, Wells drilled at that time off the west coast were ordered capped. We could be pumping oil in less than one year if the democrats in congress let us…………..If Obama is elected with a Democrat controlled Congress and Senate expect gas to reach $10. per gal and fuel oil to reach $12. per gal about the first of April next year……..
