If oil is poison to the environment, why are we still using road asphalting? Asphalt being made from crude oil
Everytime it rains, isnt the rain got contaminated the whole citywide? and the water all flows to drain then to sea??
We were taught to dispose properly used engine oil , but isnt this citywide road asphalting worser?

  1. Warren Says:

Not really. Asphalt goes thru a heating process and thus lessens the pollution factor. Also, it’s cheap and readily available. That’s the stock answer from the asphalt companies. Your question has merit but you must take into account oil based fluids leaking from vehicles also. To me, cement is better but I’m sure that there is a draw-back to it too. Society uses the best means possible at the time to accomplish desired goals.
