If they would ignore the naysayers and drilled on our land in Alaska, would that not create a lot of jobs?

Yes, we still should go on with the solar panels, windmills and natural gas etc. but we will still be using oil and gas in many products like plastic etc.. for hundreds of years. We could be completely independent of the East if we would. Do you think they should drill on our land in Alaska?

First, we wouldn’t be independant of the East. Second, while the oil will create jobs, over half teh jobs will be /temporary/, and fire most of the workers when A) they don’t get oil, B)some get injured when the naysayers protest, C) the oil runs out, and D) when the buildings done, and they don’t need all the people to build the stuff anymore.

We can stimulate more jobs in a differnt way, preferably more perminant jobs.

There could be a lot of jobs created cleaning up an oil spill, not the type of jobs that we want. Besides, the only reason why they want to drill there is that it is very lucrative, not because drilling there will solve our energy problem.

Liberals do not want to create jobs.
They want to create a financial and social melt down so they can turn America into their liberal utopia, with them dictating to all the serfs everything we do, say, and think.

Drilling in Alaska will not reduce our dependency on the Middle East.

The U.S. Geological Survey in a surprising updated study says there are about 896 million barrels of oil in the ANWR, 90% less than originally assumed. The US uses about 20 million barrels a day.

    Yes.

Jobs are more important than someone’s outdated environmental ideals.

You like the environment plant a freaking tree.

    I need to get paid!

"We could be completely independent of the East if we would".

That is completely, totally, absolutely, 100% false.

I’m amused by the thumbs-downs. Email me your evidence. Big $100 reward for proof that the US has enough reserves to be independent of foreign oil. I accept email.

  8. Graybeard Says:

You’re right… we should pump that oil out of the ground and burn it up so that we won’t be dependent upon foreign sources in the future.

  9. WhosUrDaddyNow Says:

There is less than a years worth of oil in ANWR.
