Is it possible to remove mercaptans from crude oil just by heating?
I want to know is t\it possible to decrease the amount of mercaptans in 120000 crude oil storage tank by just turn on the heaters and increase crude oil temperature?!!

It is not possible as mercaptans are as volatile as other petrochemicals.

No you can not remove mercaptans this way, the crude must be chemically treated with a Mercaptan Scavenger.
