Is Obama’s Oil policies just more slick politics?

Check here for Obama’s dealings with oil company employee’s and his accepting large donations. http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/obamas_oil_spill.html
Here is some of the facts. Obama has accepted more than 3,000 from individuals who work for companies in the oil and gas industry and their spouses.

Two of Obama’s bundlers are top executives at oil companies and are listed on his Web site as raising between ,000 and 0,000 for the presidential hopeful.
Also Obama supported the Cheney Bush energy bill of 2005, read about it here, http://clintondems.com/2008/07/obama-supported-bushcheney-energy-bill/ The recent drop in oil prices was due to drilling which Obama is largely opposed to. The mere fact that we just recently started additional drilling caused oil companies to lower their prices. read about it here.

Like so many other things, Obama’s take on the oil crunch only exemplifies his inexperience and his fundamental misunderstanding of how the real world works. Supply matters a great deal in the setting of price, whether its oil, corn, or anything else. The more abundant it is the less expensive it is. We have oil reserves equal to all of the middle east in our coal, shale, off shore sites and in Utah. Alaska and Wyoming. Why shouldn’t we drill our own oil, keep our money here at home, and lessen our dependence on countries who aren;t exactly our best friends anyway. Sure Obama wants to drill now, but that is purely political expediency based on poll results and my guess is that if elected, he’ll abandon his desires to drill and doom us to even higher gas prices. 123 days as a senator does not qualify somebody to be President, and certainly not Obama who already thinks he’s God.

I think the answer is to do everything possible. Drill, inflate your tires, etc.

We need to do whatever we can to get off of foreign oil.

Bottom line is that he is a politician first and for most and his biggest concern is be elected and then re-elected. What ever it takes to do that, so be it.

And John McCain received over $2 million from oil companies after he decided that drilling is a good thing. And…the drop in oil prices started before drilling….drilling hasn’t even STARTED yet and won’t for at least a few years. It takes a year or two to even build an offshore oil rig to be towed to the site where drilling would begin. You can find that information easily if you use "the Google." The Saudi’s have been drilling in the Gulf of Mexico for years and haven’t given us a break yet. Do you honestly think that the oil companies are going to sell gas to us cheaper because it came out of the ground in the US?

Obama is right. If you want immediate relief, increase your gas mileage by making sure your tires are properly inflated and your engine is tuned up. If you’re waiting for gas from new drilling….don’t hold your breath. You won’t breathe again for a couple of years at the very least.
