    ALL engineering majors are EXTREMELY difficult, they are by far the hardest and toughest majors out there, petroleum is no different (notice the caps locks for emphasis). And you can apply to medical school with almost any major you want with the exception of a few like liberal arts. The important thing is that you complete the prerequisites and take all the classes required to get into medical school.
