oil and gas question?

What is a mature sedimentary basin ?, is it like when most of the oil it produced has been drilled, if so whats the opposite of a mature basin defined as ?

    mature is a basin emplaced sufficiently long enough for conversion of raw organics into petroleum and or coal. The Permian basin of west texas is not the same origin as the Applachian basin however they are both mature in their own right.

    Opposite is an immature– geologically speaking
