Russia Happy With Obama, Ready to sell us Cheap gas and Free trips to Space?

Well maybe not free trips to space, but when the shuttle retires in 2010, they will be happy to put US astronauts in space, and probably for half the price of NASA.

Russia also has condemned the Iranian president yesterday, regarding his denial of the Holocaust.

Russia has the largest natural gas reserves in the world. Enough to supply global demand for 300 years.

So is it better to make Russia our friend, and get all the benefits?

    It’s better.
Too bad some wouldn’t trust anyone besides the US, and that’s pushing it.
Such as the deficit. it’s always gone down in times of peace & up in war

Cheap gas and oil. The Russians also could help us in Afghanistan as well as Iran. It’s a strong ally in that region of the world.

I heard GE will now be getting a bunch of contracts in Russia too. I don’t trust the Russians yet. I think we’re moving too fast in our relationship.

This is ruining all the effort the Bush admin put into reigniting the Cold War.

    Does Obama hold nothing sacred?

The fact that Russia is "happy" with our decision to dismantle the missile defense system in Eastern Europe comes as no surprise. Without the defense shield, they can threaten Europe anytime they want with nuclear destruction and there’s nothing the smaller nations can do about it. The fact that Obama decided to pull out of the program on the 60th Anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Poland is all the more slap in the face to our European allies.

As for Russia’s condemnation of Iran — I don’t know where you heard that, but I’ve not seen it. And even if they did, it’s meaningless. Because even if they did, at the same time they’re "condemning" the speech, they’re helping Iran with their nuclear program – which is a cover for developing the bomb.

Get it straight. Russia is NOT our friend. Never has been. Never will be.
