I am puzzled with what is driving up oil price from 50 to 150 dollar per barrel in less than 2 year’s time. Isn’t the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan serve to secure oil supply? Some factors that I can think of are:
1. increasing demand from China and india
2. reducing OPEC production
3. weakening of dollar

1. The price of oil goes from per barrel to 0 in several years.
2.China and India have increased demand for oil during that period but not by 3X the previous price.
3.Islamic countries are the the major exporters of oil.
America is the largest consumer of oil in the world, with the EU not far behind and China repidly gaining ground. Humanity as a whole is consuming more oil then at any other period in history. At this rate we will completely strip the earth of its petroleum reserves by 2050 (excluding coal and shale). [...]
Since I think natural gas is harder to transport across oceans I’m guessing most natural gas consumed in the US is produced nearby in the US, Alaska, and Canada. If the growing economies of China and India are pushing up world wide oil prices, it seems less plausible that this same effect could effect [...]
Oil price is rising obviously is rising, and it is caused by the demand and supply, with demand exceeds the supply.
