Saw .15/gallon today at the pump, when a barrel of crude oil is selling for ..A few months ago, when it was selling for around , I paid .65/gallon, at least one time that I know of. Both prices were at the same station.

I know that if it does evaporate that it would not condense into crude oil but I’m pretty sure that the hydrocarbon chains might bond with water or at least recombine into other maybe toxic forms form droplets like rain.

Crude oil is heated to about 1250 degrees farenheit. It still doesnt catch fire. I understand that gasoline is ‘derived’ from crude and am not confusing the two. Still, the crude oil has enough flammability to catch fire if it touches a direct flame. Yet, it withstands boiling upto such high temperatures. How? Why?

the first source provides crude oil that is 55% hydrocarbons.
The second one provides oil that is 95% hydrocarbons. In order to obtain 40 gallons of crude oil that is 90% hydrocarbons, how many gallons of crude oil must be used from each of the two sources?
