There are countless BILLIONS OF BARRELS of oil reserves throughout the United States and offshore that we could tap into using TODAYS technology. Not mention 100 years worth of natural gas reserves. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/11/us/11oil.html So why are democrats dead set against the US drilling for it’s own oil where we have the tightest [...]

So I’ve been hearing that Democrats in Congress keep repeating the same phrase when President Bush calls for the lifting of offshore oil drilling bans: 68 Million Acres currently available for exploration.
But I cannot seem to find any information about how much oil and natural gas is under those lands. Much research has shown that [...]

I’ll have to agree with the Democrats on this issue. "NO" to offshore oil drilling. First, it would take a few years to come to production which would have no immediate effect on one of societies biggest fears right now…"rising gas prices". Second, the oil that would be produced would only last for about 3 [...]

Since 1982, oil exploration has been banned offshore of the United States. At the time, the Republican Congress enacted an environmental moratorium against offshore drilling for oil and gas. In 1990, the year after the Exxon Valdez oil tanker disaster, US President George H.W. Bush signed an executive order creating a second, presidential moratorium.
Also, Bush’s [...]
