Why are RedsStaters blocking OIL drilling at Daytona, Taladaga and the Fort Sumter CSA Memorial Battlefield???
Saturday, January 8th, 2011Don’t Republicans care about raising Gas prices.
Don’t Republicans care about raising Gas prices.
If she believes it will be voted down, why does she block the vote on drilling? Is she afraid that would trigger expectations of oil investors and lower gas prices? What is her primary motive?
Gas to hit 4.00 a gallon in 2011!! What will American do as a nation to stop this giant LIE!! that our nation is running out of gas…How many more excuses do we have to listen to, to be forced to buy from the Foreign gas cartels.
We have loads of oil and other resources in [...]
My father in law told me that between Alaska, ocean drilling, and other states such as Texas, we have enough oil to last for years, but we are hoarding it to save for when the rest of the world runs out. If we drilled it, gas prices could be much lower. I have also heard [...]
And business? I’m asking because I thought gas was one of those natural resources that is limited, and would eventually run out? Isn’t that why they’re trying to make cars that run with electricity, or other materials and resources? I’m just asking because back in high school, I vaguely remember us discussing [...]
During Giuliani’s speech at the GOP convention, the Republican delegates broke into a "drill baby, drill" chant.

I don’t understand this. Currently oil companies hold the rights to drill on offshore land with 34 billion barrels of oil estimated below. California is not going to allow drilling off our coast, which leaves potentially another [...]
Are they just looking for someone to punish because gas prices are so high?
Don’t they know that the price of gas will go up to cover the tax increase?
Don’t they realize that taxes on gasoline are four times as much as the oil companies profits?
Don’t they realize that most of these profits benefit pension [...]
Oil drilling is the commercial activity of drilling for, and exploiting subterranean petroleum or hydrocarbon resources. For decades there has been a federal moratorium on new offshore oil drilling for much of the continental United States. In September 2008, under pressure by high oil prices and the status of drilling as a Presidential campaign issue, [...]
Gasoline or gas (North America) or petrol (Commonwealth countries) is a fuel derived from petroleum, which is in turn generally thought to be derived from ancient vegetable matter. Gasoline is an aliphatic hydrocarbon, or the molecules are composed of nothing but hydrogen and carbon in long chains. The energy contained in a gallon of gasoline [...]
When I lived in Alaska during the 04 elections there was a proposition by some candidate that I don’t know the name of that suggested that Alaska state should allow the residents of Alaska to vote for or against a State owned oil and refinery company. and a month or so before [...]
This would lower gas prices and we would not have to rely on foreign oil.
The president says the solution to high gas prices is drilling for more oil and building more refineries.
When was the last time the US built a refinery? 30+ years?!?
How long will it take to build a new refinery? 6 years?? and what are we to do until then?
hey Greg I make 100,000 year [...]
Nobody knows if increasing our domestic oil outflow will decrease oil prices. We can increase our domestic oil outflow by 1.5million barrels of oil per day. Domestically, we presently produce 1.5million barrels of oil per day. Within the next 10years, we will demand more oil and foreign countries will too. The world’s outflow of [...]
This week, the U.S. senate drilled C.E.O.s of oil companies about gas prices and the C.E.O. explained to the senators that gas prices were so high because congress has tied the hands of the oil companies by not letting them drill for oil in U.S. waters. I think congress is playing politics with the economy [...]
I’m a huge animal activist and want to know how it will effect the wildlife that lives there. I just know of oil spills and tearing up their homes.
I don’t want a lecture about how we need the oil because of high gas prices. In my opinion, this won’t solve high gas prices forever.
It seems as i spoke at the Mayo Clinic the other day to many people in waiting rooms from Oklahoma, Texas, that they are very mad at our president, for not using all the Full Stored up oil from every state.
They are also very angry, that New Oil Drilling [...]
I live in a large 3000 sq ft home in a winter city. This past winter our natural gas bill ran 0-0 a month to heat the home from November through March. So, we divised a plan to cut costs down.
At night, I am turning down the main thermostat to 55 degree and we [...]
1) Do you think the push for more exploration will last past the election, or is it just lip service?
2) Will we be placated if gas prices come down again and forget about all this energy talk?
So oil has dropped almost 25% since its high 3 weeks ago. Yet gas prices where I live have only dropped 3% (seriously), and with the long weekend coming up they’ll probably skyrocket. Why aren’t we seeing cheaper prices at the pump with oil sliding?
I may not be an economics expert but I don’t think offshore drilling in the U.S. will help gas prices all that much. It will take ten years to see anything and with the growing use of cars in China and India I think the world demand for oil will only increase. Let’s [...]
Could you help me find some websites for these points?
* Most oil in the acean comes from seapage from the earth, not oil spills
*We need oil for plastic and many other products, not just for energy
*Green energy is still 15 to 20 years away.
*Expenses for alternative energy are too great, and the power output is [...]
HMM? Ok if the oil companys made only made 9 or 12 cents per gallon and there profits for 2005 quadrupled? That means they sold 4 times as much gas in 05 then 04..? Correct? HMM Well that didn’t happen?
Maybe they cut admin cost to the tune of a trillion [...]
Gas prices went up about 18 in the past two days? I have never seen gas prices in my area get any higher that 2.90 a gallon, and now its close to 3.10. I don’t get it, there’s no holiday, there was no natural disaster, no terrorist attack, and the gas price is [...]
How many gallons of Natural Gas should a house use on average?
2 bedroom 1200sqft house.
- Gas house heater
- Gas stove
- Gas fireplace
What if all the appliances are never used for a month (just pilot light on)?
I know it will vary by lifestyle of the user… I am lookng for ballpark numbers.
I got a bill for [...]
It is strange that Dems/Libs have a mantra, we can’t drill our way out of this. True! but where are the alternatives and we all have cars that run on gasoline. Most of us can’t go out and purchase a ,000 automobile. Meanwhile gas prices soar because we are dependent on foriegners.
