It is strange that Dems/Libs have a mantra, we can’t drill our way out of this. True! but where are the alternatives and we all have cars that run on gasoline. Most of us can’t go out and purchase a ,000 automobile. Meanwhile gas prices soar because we are dependent on foriegners.

Are mindless sheep who don’t know the facts?
Proponents for drilling make the argument that setting up offshore drilling will reduce America’s dependence on other countries for oil.
A few key facts:
1. Offshore drilling here in the United States will not bring us lower gas prices. Oil prices are determined by the global oil market
2. Increased [...]

The reason for shortages of natural resources and high gas prices and extreme overpopulation, why can’t people stop having more than one kid? It’s one thing t0o have two on occasion depending on the family, but you really need to defintiely stop after two, that is if you actually have as many as two.

It’s very likely just a coincidence, but I think it’s at least ironic that gas prices have never gone up as much as they have this year, not even close, and most of us americans are cashing those economic stimulus checks, and handing over the green to the Arabs.
No other commodity behaves price-wise like gas. [...]

Why should we open up more public lands and allow Big Oil to drill in the US?
Consider:
- The 574 million acres of federal costal water that are off-limits are believed to hold almost 18 billion barrels of oil and 77 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, according to the Interior Department.
Sounds like a lot.
But consider [...]

it should be, drilling on our own soil would produce enough oil to lower gas prices and the mid-east terrorist nations could not help the Democrats hold us hostage and pay them ransom so they can train more terrorists to kill Americans?

President George W. Bush urged Congress to overturn a 26-year ban on offshore oil drilling in the U.S. (West Florida – Gulf of Mexico) to petroleum exploration and explained that these moves would "take pressure off gas prices over time by expanding the amount of American-made oil and gasoline." John McCain made a similar appeal [...]

According to an Energy Information Administration (EIA) chart at: http://www.eia.doe.gov/emeu/steo/pub/gifs/Fig14.gif
US petroleum consumption has actually gone "DOWN" but I keep hearing the laws [theories] of "supply and demand" meaning if demand goes up the price goes up, yet the US demand has been going down since 2007 why isn’t the price down?

Its stupid drilling for oil in the U.S. and off shore
Its good that gas prices are high cause it forces people to conserve and use less and that decreases global warming.
I am against any new drilling and I will personally fight against it

Is the idea of drilling more oil in the US to affect US gas prices a falicy? If it all goes into the same global oil marketplace and sold to the highest bidder then we can’t possibly drill enough oil to affect that huge market.
