There is a lot of concern right now about the environmental impacts of fracking for natural gas. Natural gas production by fracking, though, is considerably more environmentally friendly than coal production by mining. Production and transportation costs are enough lower for gas than coal that gas is now a cheaper energy source than coal in [...]

(A) In an attempt to hold down costs to consumers, he called for tighter federal controls on oil and natural gas prices.
(B) He called energy conservation efforts “the moral equivalent of war.”
(C) He imposed rationing on gasoline and heating fuel, and he placed tariffs on imported petroleum.

I’m looking for a price ticker/widget I can embed in my website that has NYMEX crude and NYMEX natural gas prices. When trying to customize a yahoo badge, I could not get the symbols to work. Does anyone know if I can include these, or if not, another widget that offers this? Google finance wasn’t [...]

With natural gas prices rocketing sky high – what are you doing to keep your heating bills at a minimal? Any unique ideas to heat up your place without giving up your arm this coming winter?
Currently we have an air-forced duct system in place. I really hate it, the heat does not [...]

Food service workers traditionally draw a low pay scale. The majority of fast food and casual dining workers earn .00-8.50 per hour. In states where minimum wage is closer to .00 per hour, maybe .75 per hour.
I own a bakery. Most of my workers start at .00 per hour. I have a small staff of [...]

According to today’s economic report, inflation has eased.
Among points made:
The unchanged reading for energy reflected a big 4.8 percent jump in natural gas prices, offset by a 2 percent decline in gasoline costs.
Well actually, the cost of gasoline has not gone down anywhere.
So, um… what’s the agenda.
How long till ten dollar a loaf bread?
I give [...]

Tomorrow the US Congress votes on bill HR 2454. I am extremely worried this Bill will pass because. . .
It will raise your household electricity rates by 90 percent, gasoline by 74 percent, residential natural gas prices by 55 percent by 2035 (after adjusting for inflation), and will cut U.S. employment levels by [...]

Because almost every industry and American uses some form of fossil fuel-based energy, the impact of an energy tax of this level will be disastrous to the American economy.
For example, The Heritage Foundation’s Center for Data Analysis has found that by 2035 the Waxman-Markey bill will have the following economic impact:
[...]

From what I gather, this Cap & Trade policy will not have all that great of an effect on the economy, for example, it will:
Destroy an average of 1-3 million jobs, every year
Raise inflation-adjusted gasoline prices by 74 percent
Raise residential natural gas prices by 55 percent
Raise an average family’s annual energy bill by ,500 annually
Increase [...]

I don’t give a rats p’tooty about Democrat or Republican… I just want stability again.
If we go green, we suffer in the meantime… not everyone can afford a new car or get it converted. A lot of people want to hold onto their big trucks and SUV’s and some of them actually [...]

A study conducted by researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology determined the restrictions could raise gasoline prices by 29%, electricity prices by 55% and natural gas prices by 15% by 2015.
A study by the National Association of Manufacturers projected that emissions caps, similar to those previously rejected by the U.S. Senate calling for a [...]

The Energy Information Agency (EIA), the Environmental Agency (EPA), and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) recently conducted an independent analysis and concluded that energy costs will dramatically increase. Specifically, the group estimates that the proposed budget’s cap-and-trade system will directly cause an estimated .27 per gallon increase for the cost of gasoline and [...]

In this Cap and Trade Bill, there will not be anymore drilling off shore or on shore. Say NO and stop the madness!
This week a late night deal was struck on the national energy tax. Clearly, Speaker Pelosi is running a machine, and was able to strong-arm a number of moderate Democrats to stand against [...]

The ongoing natural gas crisis is exacting a heavy toll on America’s nitrogen fertilizer producers and the farmer customers they supply. The cost of natural gas — which is used as a feedstock in nitrogen production — accounts for as much as 90 percent of the cost of producing [...]

Reviewing a host of recent studies, Buckley and Mityakov show that estimates of job losses attributable to cap-and-trade range in the hundreds of thousands. The price for energy paid by the American consumer also will rise. The studies reviewed showed electricity prices jumping 5-15% by 2015, natural gas prices up 12-50% by 2015, and gasoline [...]

Currently oil prices have everyone’s attention, so why don’t people take the time to understand how the prices are set and then realize we have had problems (and until recently Congress has only made them worse) with commodity market regulation: Enron drove up California energy prices in 2000-2001, Amaranth doubled natural gas [...]
