What are the stages of production in petroleum mining and how is it formed?
eg. What methods are used, also am wondering for example how a petroleum mining company would produce petroleum.

By "petroleum mining" I assume you are referring to the Oil Sands located in Alberta, Canada.
The stages are similar to open pit mining of other deposit types.
1 Exploration and delineation – grade, thickness, depth of cover are mapped from drilling
2 Mining – truck and shovel
3 Processing – bitumen is removed from sand with stream in a plant
4 Refining – bitumen is refined (cracked) into lighter products
