What is the NY stock exchange symbol for crude oil?

Every day I read and hear about crude oil closing at different prices on the NY stock exchange. When I try to find the symbol I get many different symbols. Any one know which one I would use to check it by the hour, I mean the one they use in the new broadcasts every day and on the radio.

Crude Oil is a commodity, not a stock. As such it is traded on Commodity Exchanges. "Oil" on the NYSE refers to Oil Companies such as EXXon-Mobile (XON)

There are many different grades and types of hydrocarbons. Here in Texas, the benchmark is West Texas Intermediate.
