What President has done more than Obama to reduce our dependence on foreign oil & what did they do?
billion in loan guarantees to build new new nuclear power plants.
Approved new oil and gas drilling off Virginia’s coast and in other parts of the mid- and south Atlantic, in the eastern Gulf of Mexico, and in waters off Alaska.
billion to fund the development of renewable energy manufacturing – specifically focused on the creation of new plants or retooling current plants to create materials in support of the renewable energy and alternative transportation economies.
.8 billion in direct spending for renewable energy and efficiency programs over the next 10 years.
.5 billion for research and development of new renewable and efficiency technologies.
.6 billion of new clean energy renewable bonds to finance wind, biomass, geothermal, hydropower, landfill gas, marine renewable, and trash combustion facilities
Everything I listed is easy to verify.

Carter tried… but couldn’t get anything through. Obama is actually accomplishing the task. This will stimulate jobs, the economy, and help us end our dependence on foreign oil.

What you wrote of is hollow imagery. Nanny state spending with borrowed printed money is not the answer. 0bama has done nothing at all. the off shore deal he is bragging about is nothing but a bone to fool the gullible. BTW, that was also pre-done contracts Bush had set up tjhat the oil companies could have sued the government over and won.

And all of these will take how long to come online?? We have enough fossil fuels to support the US for another 100 years and we can’t touch it but the Russians will tap into it from their agreement to drill off Cuba!! We will never be without dependence on fossil fuels and anyone who thinks we will is out of their mind!

Mr Wolf, this is a double edged question, it’s common fact that prior to this Obama and the Democrats blocked any Republican attempt to pass a Bill to drill offshore. It’s common knowledge that Obama is now facing a backlash from the decision to go ahead by those that put him in power.

there was carter trying a green revolution, even had solar pannels on the white house till some republican took them off

Spending taxpayer dollars on "renewable" energy is a complete waste.
Solar-panel stimulus runs into bureaucratic roadblocks

And they will NEVER take the place of what oil and coal can do.

Bush. He and his cronies stole oil production from Afghanistan and Iraq. Or so says the Left.
April 5th, 2010 at 12:55 pm
The $8 billion in loan guarantees will be consumed fighting left wing lawsuits against the nuclear power plants
Has not approved drilling, only exploration
The manufacturing of renewable energy technology will move overseas as soon as the unions get involved
obama has been below average in reducing our dependence on foreign oil
