What Republican President has done more than Obama to reduce our dependence on foreign oil & what did they do?

billion to fund the development of renewable energy manufacturing – specifically focused on the creation of new plants or retooling current plants to create materials in support of the renewable energy and alternative transportation economies.
.8 billion in direct spending for renewable energy and efficiency programs over the next 10 years.
.5 billion for research and development of new renewable and efficiency technologies.
.6 billion of new clean energy renewable bonds to finance wind, biomass, geothermal, hydropower, landfill gas, marine renewable, and trash combustion facilities
The loan guarantees announced will be used to help finance new reactors at the Alvin W. Vogtle Electric Generating Plant in eastern Georgia near the South Carolina border, where two units are being operated by the Atlanta-based Southern Co.

Actually Congress passed this in 2008. It limits the exploration to between 50 and 100 miles off shore. The Republicans voted against it because it limited the expansion to drill where the oil is known to be. All Obama did was announce the implantation of the Bill that was passed before he became President. It still does not allow drilling where the oil is known to be.

Not one permit has been issued for nuclear plants.
The oil and gas drilling he supposedly just announced has already been under contract, he actually shrunk the area opened.
None of the other crap will actually do anything the provide power , the only real answer is to go to hydrogen power or nano carbon tube technology. We should be putting all of our best scientist to work developing them.

Wow! You bought the Obama lie hook, line, and sinker! Amazing! Try this for facts. You can guarantee loans fo new nuclear power plants all day long but if the EPA won’t issue building permits, the loan guarantee is worthless and nothing but imagery.
There’s no approval for oil and gas drilling off the east coast anywhere or in the Gulf of Mexico and Alaskan waters. What was approved was permits and opening areas to EXPLORE for oil, NOT DRILL FOR OIL. It’s worthless because once again, the EPA decides who gets drilling permits and those areas are closed for drilling.
16.8 billion for direct spending on renewable energy and efficiency programs for 10 years? What the hell is that? What is renewable energy? Obama said just last week that we have no alternative energy to oil, so what the hell is renewable energy? Another shill game and worthless handouts.
2.5 billion for research and development of new renewable energy technologies? What would that be?
And finally 1.6 billion for all this wind, biomass, geothermal, hydro power (dams), landfill gas, marine renewable (whatever the hell that is), and trash combustion facilities (carbon into the air from burning? oh no!). All of this regulated by the EPA, and no permits for building will be issued.
