What type of engineers are in the petroleum/oil field?

Im trying to accomplish my career goals and dreams. My dream job, is to work as a Engineer in the petroleum/oil industry. I love computers with a passion, electronics, troubleshooting etc… I want to be in the right field of engineering, with in the petroleum/oil field. But off course, first is college. I’ve already completed over 900 hrs in computer software’s. Now im going for technology but trying to find myself the right technology place for my dream job! Any suggestions?

    The oil and gas industry employs all kinds of engineers from the basic disciplines. In the the small group I worked in there were mechanical, chemical, electrical, computer, civil and instrumentation engineers.
