Why are Gas prices not causing protests in the street?
Gas was about .25 per gallon when Bush took the Presidentail reins in his first term.
Last week, Big Oil’s first-quarter profit reports came rolling in with more bad news for consumers. On April 26, Exxon/Mobil reported that even though it produced less product than last year, it earned profits of 10 percent on unusually high refinery margins (source: MarketWatch) and that the margins were so high that the company "overcame lower crude oil and natural gas prices" (source: Associated Press).
Gas has exceeded .50 per gallon in San Diego, don’t worry your pricing will soon catch up to this number.
Record prices and record profits for the Oil companies. Why are we sitting on our butts and not protesting in the streets untill we force the government to take action and curb these abuses?

because we’ve been successfully conditioned.
you will hear people say that Gas prices are lower if you adjust for inflation than they were in the 70’s.. that is true however if you use that exact same inflation index you will see that the median income has dropped an equivalent amount , just about.
for them that will say that we have the cheapest gas in the world , .. that again looks true if you compare it to socialized countries, but of course they have free health care, education and much better living standards, also gas is about .45 a gallon in much of the Mid east.
For those of you ready to give up gas altogether, that is not a solution because not everyone can ride a bike to work or use mass trans…
conditioned, confined, coerced.. confused co-opted!

I think you’ll see a trend towards more efficient vehicles before you see gas riots. Many people are still driving SUVs, for instance, obviously, the price of gas isn’t an issue if you’re willing to blow through so much of it.

They can do a little more than what they are but you have to remember this is the stock market and it’s international. Our state govenor here in Wisconsin won’t even cut some off the gas tax!

Gas prices will come down. Hillary Clinton said so last summer.

You can protest by not buying gas anymore. Frankly I still need it. Supply and demand, and the speculators on Wall Street are the ones that have the largest bearing on prices, oil is a commodity…..talk to them.

Free Market, Free enterprise, can’t afford to waste gas driving to a protest.
March 8th, 2010 at 12:52 am
Free market. You don’t like the price don’t buy it.
March 8th, 2010 at 12:52 am
Because it is cheaper in the US than any other major country. Learn the facts.
March 8th, 2010 at 12:52 am
Because the Liberals who Protest caused the high gas prices.
Democrats stopped drilling in Alaska, Off Shore, and on Oil Rich Government Lands.
Democrats wanted High Gas Prices.
AND NOW WE GOT THEM!!!!!
GOOD WORK DEMOCRATS.
(Now let’s all have a big "Democrat Group Hug" and whine together.)
Al Gore says WALK, or get a BICYCLE.

Because all of the professional protesters are at the Illegal Alien march.
A more effective way to protest the price of gas is to join the May 15th gas out where no one buys gas that day.
It’s a message, albeit a weak one.
March 8th, 2010 at 12:52 am
I can’t afford the gas to drive to the protest site.
March 8th, 2010 at 12:52 am
Because most Americans are too selfish to give up anything that they think they need. It’s just like the tickets to sporting events. The athletes and owners make outrageous amounts of money and people are willing to pay any price for tickets just to watch a "game". Same with gas.
Americans aren’t disciplined enough to contain cost.

HMMMM….. LETS SEE …. Oh yeah we got 2 million citizens in jail , most for non violent drug crimes. then you got the poor and the hurting middle class all being LIED TO DAILY in the so called media. with all the mish-mash of info the arguing just goes of the scale and while we debate whats going on , the rich get richer!
March 8th, 2010 at 12:52 am
What can we do? The refineries are not going to be built because the enviro wackos do not want them. Big Oil does not want them either.
March 8th, 2010 at 12:52 am
Well, for me personally, I probably would not be able to afford to drive to a protest if there were one and I would probably be considered a "terrorist" (revised Patriot Act) if I did protest.
March 8th, 2010 at 12:52 am
Gas prices are up? I hadn’t noticed. I guess while driving a reasonably-sized car and using public transportation and my bike to get around, I missed it.
March 8th, 2010 at 12:52 am
Those that would riot have not yet felt enough of the pain of high gas prices yet.
March 8th, 2010 at 12:52 am
People don’t understand that by limiting refinery building , big oil sells less at higher prices. We should make them build new refineries or pay well head taxes.
March 8th, 2010 at 12:52 am
Notice how prices skyrocketed once the dems took control over congress? Like they’re going to do anything about our protests – they’re the reason the prices are so high to being with.
