Why do people assume the price of gas will drop when Iraq enacts the"Iraq Hydrocarbon Laws"&Exxon(?)runs it?

Maybe not Exxon or not just Exxon but whatever foreign companies (like Pennzoil; GW Bush family, Standard, BP whomever) win the bid to control Iraq’s oil.

If Iraq wants to Nationalize their oil shouldn’t they have that right?
Are they a sovereign country or not?

This is NOT about lowering the cost of a gallon of gasoline for the consumer, it’s about American Big Oil and their cohorts getting richer!

They’re willing to wait to reap the windfall if they have to wait!

The "Iraq Hydrocarbon Laws" are part of GW Bush’s 18 benchmarks that he refers to that will REQUIRE Iraq to open their natural resources to the free market and a bidding system. They will have to bid to develop THEIR OWN OIL!

This isn’t about making gasoline <.00/gal!

    Tell me about it.
We get more Oil from Canada than from Iraq. What the big stick is about I have no clue! But you bring up a good point. More importantly, i begs the questions…if its not really about oil, than what is it about?

Why does anybody think that the price of a gallon of gas will ever go down? YOU WILL NEVER SEE IT GO BELOW $3/gal EVER AGAIN. NEVER!!!!
From time to time it will drop a couple of cents, then it will jump up a dime or two, then it will drop a few pennies again, then it will jump a dime or two, etc.
That’s the way IT ALWAYS GOES!! ALWAYS!!!!!
