why does United States have to manipulate the fluctuate the price of crude oil/ petrol?

since we are heading to another severe depression/inflation, US is constantly being bombarded by horricane which destroy the oil rig there.and the States will increase the crude oil price throughout the world. and why not they give it to other countries which are not prone to climate calamity.

The US does not manipulate the price of oil. Oil is priced on the world market.

they only wish they can manipulate the price

The US has no say in how much oil costs the American people. If you are looking for who is responsible for the oil prices look no further than OPEC. It’s the oil tycoons of the middle east who are to blame for the heavy oil costs to the US. While in Kuwait I have witnessed the low oil prices of .75 cents a gallon.

1 Old prices are set by that free-market not by the US.
2 Mexico and Cuba has more oil rigs than the US.
3 The US has harsh limits on the number of oil rig in the gulf because of environmentalist.

the moment bush was in office i knew we would have an oil fight we have plenty of oil in Alaska but they want to keep it a reserve so they can play monopoly with it , helps if they have their hands in on a strong source now while everyone is talking conservation. In the end its all about the big picture =money

which country isn’t prone to climate calamity?

First off, you cant’ have both inflation and a depression. They are two opposite economic events.Second, I’m always amazed when I hear some say that our government has such great Powers. You would think that if the government had that strength we would have no problems in life. After all content people do not complain.Third, There is not a country in the world that is not prone to such environmental events.

Why are there so many ignorant people in here asking questions? Oil is priced according to supply and demand. Since OPEC has the most supply they can and do regulate the flow. And what does this mean? "and why not they give it to other countries which are not prone to climate calamity."

Go to a local college, enroll in Economics 101 and learn something about the law of supply and demand.
When was the last hurricane which destroyed an oil rig. Was it last week? I must have missed it.
