Why dont people whom are offeneded by the Mosque?
why do the they want the government to stop the proposed mosque near ground zero by infringing on property owners rights? Why dont they pool their resources and buy the land from the owners and build what ever they want to be there? Isn’t it antiamerican to tell someone what they can or cannot build on private property? if it is zoned properly for their proposed use
brian I just told them that! put its time to put up or shut up if it offends you form a organization raise money buy the land. I am not for them building it either ,but it is their land .

Personally, I don’t like it. I would use the system to outsmart/buy/zoning/scheme/delay/whatever it took to keep the Mosque away from that area.

I agree. I think that by allowing Muslims to build the mosque it will be a step, albeit a small one, towards showing the Muslim community we don’t hold them all accountable for those horrible events.

While I feel it’s probably not a good idea to build there, It is indeed their right. It is UnAmerican to tell people what they can do with their property if all laws are being met.

I agree that the 9/11 mosque should be built. I also agree that those against it should exercise every legal means to stop it.

I have even a better idea…..get Rush Limbaugh & fools like Palin to take this up as a cause…and hope that the Tea Party folks will take this up as a cause. That way, just as they bomb the abortion clinics, maybe some Repub extremists will bomb the mosque and feel that they are within their rights as "good" Americans to do so.

Because there is already a council in place that can decide what you build and what you cant. They are just utilizing that mechanism. Why shouldnt they use what gets used all the time.

I assume that American labor will be used for building the mosque. Certainly the unions can grind a project to a stop if they are so inclined. If they want to use foreign labor, deny them entry /work permits.

First they (mosque people) do not own the property. Second, this is a huge slap in the face to all the men and women who died on 9/11 and to the city of New York. Third, the iman in charge of the mosque praised the 9/11 hijackers and said what they did was honarable. Fourth, the money to build the mosque came from terrorism.
