Obama’s proposals have been called sheer lunacy by leading economic experts. Any profits tax on oil companies will be passed on to the consumer and working people will pay more taxes. Instead of being tax crazy, Obama needs to facilitate resources that the US has that have been held captive by environmental extremists not tax us even more. I don’t think the word capitalism is in Obama’s vocabulary. He is a Marxist to the core and needs to be exposed before America makes a huge mistake. I am a Democrat who is appalled by this man.

Big Al Gore has been to 1,000 cities and more preaching
the Global Warming and nobody is much listening when
they are losing their houses and cars and way of life..yes,
drill wherever there is oil…and stop the speculators from
hogging all the oil until the price goes up.up up..Nationalize
the oil industry…as Canada did..but they still have higher oil
prices.and so does Europe too..and they are far from a
free market either.

Global warming is real and environmentalism is extremely important to keep the planet habital for human life. Not to say that I’m crossing my fingers hoping that most of the republican states get buried in water I still would like like to see some good things start happening.

Because some of the areas, such as the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, are extremely environmentally sensitive areas.
ANWR is one of the most ecologically sensitive areas in North America, as it provides summer breeding grounds and grazing areas for so many species that live in this area. There’s a reason it has been set aside as a refuge, and even the oil hungry Regan administration refused to touch it.
One only has to look west at Pudhoe Bay, which is adjacent to ANWR, to see the environmental destruction and oil spills that have significantly degraded the area.
Secondly, any oil extracted from ANWR would only be a drop in the bucket compared to our domestic oil demand. And who’s to say that any oil there would even be used domestically if it were drilled?? Most likely, oil companies would export most of it for their own profit.

Because Obama wants to be president and thinks that more people will vote for him if he pretends to be an environmentalist. He will change his position if he feels that the winds have shifted, because he is an empty suit. Oh, and Gore has endorsed him. How much more could a candidate wish for, especially since Gore does not practice what he preaches. One could say that Gore thinks conserving energy is good for everyone, except one….Gore himself.
I, for one, fully support McCain in his decision. It is the right thing to do, especially as several foreign nations are drilling off shore on American soil right now. That just does not compute. McCain has what it takes to be a good president, as he will do whatever it takes. This should not be a popularity contest, but rather a contest to select that candidate that will do what is right. That is why I am voting for McCain 08.
To all the environmentalists. This offshore drilling has gone on for many years and not one single drop of oil has spilled.
Just listen to the news reports, rather than the environmentalists. Yes, we do have the supply that we need right here in the USA. The environmentalists would like for us to believe otherwise. Last night Newt Gingrich addressed this very topic. That is his conclusion too.

Obama is all about the green alright. Money honey!!! The fruitcake enviro-extremist need to vacate to another country, b/c the truth of the matter is- if we do not start looking at our own natural resources such as coal and start utilizing them we are going to be poooorrrrrrhhhh. And Obama has nothing to lose, he will always have the money to drive an SUV and air-condition his home to 72 degrees but he does not feel that we have the right too and be asking for help from other countrys. Do as I say, not as I do should be his motto. McCain fought for this country with his own blood, sweat, and tears, he has a vested interest in making us stronger and more self sufficient.

Because Al Gore with his gloom and doom Global warming was unable to get people to give up their SUV’s so once the crats retook congress they raised the minimum wage forcing the price at the pump to go through the roof. The solution to the current gas problem is for everyone to by a Horse. Feed your horse hay and then take what the horse gives back and dump it in Washington DC. Then DC will be full of Horse $hit literally and not just figuratively.

the most optimistic estimate would be about a years worth of oil is available in offshore drilling areas. In the short term, another solution to the energy crisis is needed whether you drill it or not.

McCain solution: The best way to get someone off drugs is to supply them with more drugs. Really smart! So what do we do when the offshore oil runs out? Instead of reducing our use of foreign oil he just wants us to further exploit our natural resources. Why don’t we just find other more sustainable forms of energy that don’t ruin the environment!!!

We have an oil man in the Oval Office now, and he is using every trick in the free market book to increase prices for oil and gas! It’s not working for the consumers and the public! But we don’t need to drill in ecologically sensitive areas because it will only be more costly to clean the mess up later! If Obama does initiate a new tax on the oil industry they will just pass it on to the consumers unless he makes it illegal to do so! He should tax their profits and stop subsidizing them!
